Enjoying the small things in life....
Life sure does goes by in a blink of an eye, looking at Kalai and watching him grow is utterly amazing, words can't describe the feelings we have for him. He has definitely turned our world upside down and inside out :) but we wouldn't change it for the world! It's crazy to look back at the past year and note all the accomplishments Kalai and reached in just one year on earth, I will just list a few ( or alot cause i am so proud of him)....
-rolling over on his own when he was only 7weeks old-smiling at us at 10 weeks-laughing at us at 4 months, knew his name by 6 months-sitting up alone and clapping at 6 months old-crawling for the very first time at 8 months-got his first tooth at 8 1/2 months-standing alone at just 9 months old and taking his first steps at 9 1/2 months--and now at one year of age walking like he has been doing it his whole life! Kalai has mastered hitting his ball with his bat, flushing things down the toliet, laughing at mom and dad when we tell him "no" and crying on cue :) saying his first word which just so happens to be BALL---I think dad has pretty much drilled being a baseball player into him...poor kid doesn't have a chance at being anything else j/k Kalai has added so much to our lives its weird to think of what we did with all of our time and thoughts before he was here! We don't know what this year has to bring with Kalai and our family....all we do know is that in the mean time we will be enjoying the small things in life :)

So it was our little little little boys birthday! How sad he is already grown up, and he no longer needs his mom and dad. Well it was one heck of a celebration, we played games at the park, ate some pizza, ate a big birthday cake, ate some rootbeer floats, opened a lot of presents, then Kalai showed everyone how to play football! He is freaking awesome, but wow, how a year flies bye! We love you Kalai and thanks everyone for making his 1st birthday in Missoula, Montana and birthday to remember. So the first birthday was expensive and he had no clue what was going on, I can't wait to see how expensive it gets the older he gets, but you will not see Kalai on the MTV show my sweet sixteen birthday!

Time Does Not Stand Still!
Kalai at the water park! It was the last day the park was open for the summer, kind of sad. It is hard to believe how big Kalai is getting, it is hard to believe that another summer has come and gone. Time flies. Kalai absolutely loved the water, he kept diving in and so we had to jump in and pull him out of the water, luckily we think he only drank a couple gallons! But he loves the water, shower time with dad, bath time with mom, swimming pool, sprinklers, you name it and Kalai loves playing in it. So maybe we have the next Michael Phelps minus the pot! Well enjoy the journey, that is what we have been doing, it is hard to watch time fly by and how fast it all goes but what an exciting time watching your kids grow up! I can remember when my parents used to tell my brothers and sister that soon you will be all grown up and you will miss these moments with each other. Well I hate to say it but as a parent now, they were sure right. Life goes by way to fast, enjoy it, laugh often, and dont fret the small things. These moments like Kalai at the pool, holding my wifes hand in a movie, a prayer before bed, a kiss goodnight, and when morning comes the opportunity to look at your husband or wife and your kids and do it all again! That is what life is all about, the rest is just a distraction.
